Ashville, NC
Cindy Hady is a Line Dance Instructor in Asheville, NC
She teaches two classes a week at beautiful Uphora Dance Fitness in West Asheville.
When the pandemic hit, Cindy quickly segued to the Zoom format to keep her dancers and herself active and connected. “Surprise to me! Who knew a virtual format would be so much fun?!” Her Friday virtual class continues to this day.
Her dance background is rich and varied, starting in her high school and college days in the 70’s. She first discovered Contemporary Line Dancing many years ago and loved how this style of dance incorporated so many of the dance styles in her own background history.
“I came into this world dancing and I haven’t stopped yet! I remember as a kid dancing around the living room to Rogers & Hammerstein’s, Carousel, South Pacific, Oklahoma, The King & I and West Side Story, by the awe-inspiring greats; Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and choreographer, Jerome Robins. They were my Rock Stars back then. Little did I know I was learning some of the foundations of Contemporary Line Dancing and I would hold them in my body memory like a song lyric.
Thanks to the many line dance classes and events all around this beautiful world, my NEW Rock Stars are now Line Dancers! What a thrill and privilege to have “found” this awesome sport over 25 years ago and we are still growing strong. We are living the proof that the world IS richer and better when we are connected.
I am certainly living my happily ever after”. Peace, Love and let’s get the entire world Line Dancing! Cindy

Vernon, CT
I live in Vernon, Connecticut and have been line dancing for over 30 years andteaching almost as long! A Saturday evening out with friends back in the early nineties led to amazing friendships and connections, and a WHOLE lot of new adventures!
Locally, I provide instruction for area Parks & Recreation, Continuing Education Programs and Senior Center classes. I also hold independent dance classes and social dances.
In May of 2020, in response to the need for social interaction during lockdown, Istarted Parking Lot Dancing – drop in dancing outside in an area parking lot where dancers could safely come together and stay six feet apart. Many of my PLD dancers are still with me – only now we dance inside!
I have a husband who doesn’t dance (he says Dizzy put him into retirement, lol!) a son who used to dance (and even competed in line dance), and a daughter who competed in line dance as well. She not only still dances but also co-instructs with me for the Continuing Education Line Dance classes. As a family, we traveled to many parts of the country attending and/or working both UCWDC and independent events.
I believe we never stop learning so whenever possible I participate in lessons and workshops both in-person and online.
Dancing is good for the mind, body and soul. There is nothing better being on a floor full of dancers all dancing the same choreography in our own individual way.
I am thrilled to be a part of the inaugural Queen CityLine Dance Classic! Line dance has brought a wonderful world of new connections – a true circle of friends and “dance family” that extends way beyond the dance floor and I LOVE this amazing opportunity to expand that circle! I cannot imagine a life without everything that music and dance encompass.
Ashville, NC
While taking a Line Dance class on a whim, the joy of dance sparked an enormous passion in Liz. She moved quickly from beginner student to advanced, and soon began to teach her own classes. “I found I absolutely thrived on bringing moments of joy to others through dance! The fact that it was also physically and emotionally beneficial for my participants made it completely irresistible. I just had to share my enthusiasm.” From this passion for combining activities that are both healthy and super-fun, a new career path began to grow, ultimately developing into a multi-faceted Senior Fitness Specialist and self-proclaimed Ambassador of JOY.
Liz initially broadened her endeavors to Line Dance Choreography. She competed as an amateur at the National level for three years with great success, taking 1st place at 2022 Windy City Line Dance Choreography Competition. She has since “gone Pro,” teaching her dances at regional, national, and international line dance conventions.
Cambridge, MD
Joyce lives in Cambridge on the eastern shore of Maryland with her husband Bob and their dog, Ruby. Her brother introduced her to country line dancing in the 90’s. He told her the secret to dancing was in the count. Well, Joyce was a young spirited freestyle dancer and didn’t believe her older brother, but of course he was right! But she loved line dancing anyway. Then she went off to graduate school in Connecticut to earn her MFA in costume design and puppetry. It was there she fell in love, married, and lived for many years, co-owning Integrity Designworks, a custom design company that specialized in masks, puppets, and mascots. When she couldn’t find time to line danced, she spent much of her career connected to dance, designing costumes for dance and musical productions over the years. She loves musicals. Joyce and Bob returned to her home state of Maryland where she rediscovered line dance at the YMCA in Cambridge. She was thrilled to see the evolution of choreography and variety of music. She jumped back in, learning in every way she could. She started teaching dance in 2010. She loves sharing her passion for line dance through teaching and is comfortable teaching all levels. She enjoys introducing dancers to dances written by choreographers fromall over the world. She currently teaches an intermediate/advanced class in Cambridge. She occasionally teaches at workshops and private events. At the same time, she rediscovered line dance, a new chapter of her artwork revealed itself, designing sculptural art jewelry. She named this body of work Souly Joyce jewelry. She is honored to be invited to many dance events throughout the year to share her work. She always creates a special collection of jewelry inspired by the event theme or location. The connections formed through the dance community are endless. Collaborating with other artists is absolute magic. She collaborated with Gary O’Reilly to create an exclusive collection of Celtic Soul jewellery which she launched with Gary in Ireland a few years ago. And more recently launched Souly Flowers, a special new collection inspired by Cody Flowers. In her “spare-spare” time she isworking on illustrating an alphabet art book, collaborating with her best friend. Find out more about Joyce on her website www.soulyjoyce.com and follow her on Facebook and Instagram.
