The Queen City Line Dance Classic (QCLDC) is a premier instructional dance workshop/convention that will be held annually in Charlotte, North Carolina — featuring internationally recognized, award-winning choreographers, professional instructors, and globally celebrated DJs from across North America and overseas for three extraordinary days of line dance workshops.
Charlotte is called the “Queen City” because it was named in honor of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the wife of King George III of Great Britain.
When the city was founded in 1768, it was named Charlotte to honor the queen, and the surrounding county was named Mecklenburg County, referencing her German birthplace (the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz).
So the nickname “Queen City” is a direct tribute to Queen Charlotte herself.
2nd Annual QCLDC will begin Thursday February 18th through Sunday February 21st, 2027.
Registration begins March 1st, 2026.
We will be planning a Pre-party on Wednesday, February 17th. Details to follow.
We do not plan for a Sunday post-event party in 2027.
